Welcome to the best homebrewery in the San Francisco's Sunset District! I've been brewing since September 2001 in various wild places like Venice (CA), Los Altos (CA) and Haight-Ashbury (SF, CA).

Stobbrau Home Brewery Facilities

The brewery timeline...

    2001
  • Started home brewing in Venice.
  • Only Extract brews.
  • First year brewed on stove in 4 gallon pot.
    2003
  • Upgraded to converted keg and outdoor burner.
  • Brewed in car port.
    2005
  • Moved to San Francisco.
  • No room to use keg and burner at rented flat, so brewed at in-laws down in Los Altos.
    • 2007
    • Bought mash tun and began all grain brewing.
      • 2009
      • Moved all brewing equipment to the Sunset in San Francisco.
      • Finally had all equipment in one place.
      • Tried growing hops again, but utter failure.
        • 2019
        • Got a grain mill, so can now crush own grains.
